Google Project Glass – Are We Ready?

On looks alone, the Google Glass Project appears to be out of this world. And then you realize that really … it is.

Beyond the fact that there’s a real split between those that believe the next Big Google Thing is going to be exactly that, and those that consider the internet giant’s newly unveiled product as being just a little silly (or the ill-gotten spawn of a group of mad techno-geeks) … well there is a little problem known as consumer confidence.

The word on the street suggest that perhaps Google have (for once) bitten off more than they can chew. Let’s face it guys, this kind of technology, awesome as it is, does seem more suited to some futuristic sci-fi movie, with Tom Cruise as the protagonist/main model/eye candy.

Well shucks – I’m not a happy camper. Picnik is closing on the 19th April this year and all I can say (in a whiny voice) is ‘thanks a lot Google. Don’t you realize that Picnik’s Photoshop for Dummies?!’.

Google Bike Maps

A little over a year ago, Google bike maps became yet another layer added to the search engine’s mapping system. Likely that there was a good deal of whooping and joyous celebration from the mountain biking/outdoor sports brigade. At least – I should hope so, based upon the fact that Google actually had to put considerable time and effort into adding this extremely useful facility into their already impressive mapping application.
